  • Body: The main body is a deep teal blue, adorned with small, delicate white and yellow woven butis (floral/geometric dots) distributed evenly across the fabric.
  • Border: A distinct multi-layered border featuring a primary black band with intricate white, maroon, and green Ikkat patterns. This is framed by slender orange and mustard yellow stripes that provide a sharp contrast to the teal body.
  • Pallu (Anchal): The pallu is the highlight of the saree, featuring a wide, elaborate panel of traditional Ikkat artistry. It includes large floral mandalas and symmetrical geometric patterns in shades of maroon, teal, and cream, separated by horizontal bands that mirror the border's colors.

The Story of Chadhei Pittala

Native to the Ganjam district of Odisha, these sarees are a labor of love from the weaver settlements of Pittala and Padmanabhapur. They represent a unique artistic collaboration: the intricate Single Ikat borders and Pallus are crafted by the master dyers of Nuapatna, then purchased and skillfully handwoven into the saree by Ganjam artisans.

Locally known as ‘Suta Luga’, these sarees are woven from 80-count non-mercerised single cotton. Featuring the signature Chadhei (bird) motif, they are celebrated for their raw, earthy texture and superior breathability. Soft, humble, and authentic, the Pittala saree is the ultimate everyday comfort wear that sustains a rich rural heritage.
